Formats for professional and political exchange are a central aspect of Sally Below’s work. This includes the Federal Ministry of Building’s annual Congress on National Urban Development Policy, which her team at sbca has planned and implemented nine times to date. From 2011 to 2013, Sally Below and various partners developed a workshop series on building culture (Baukultur) for the Federal Ministry of Building. The workshops examined urban development topics in the context of building culture, allowing for them to be approached from new and unusual perspectives.
In 2017, Sally Below developed the concept for a conference for the European Green Capital 2017 Essen on “Sustainable Architecture Undergoing (Climate) Change”, which addressed the responsibilities of stakeholders, from the city administration to the construction industry. She has also developed various event and dialogue formats for the city of Mannheim and its project Model Quarter Spinelli.
