STADT ALS CAMPUS is a network of city makers and universities with local actors from very different fields and aims at a self-dynamic urban development in partnerships between science, administration, culture, economy, housing industry and initiatives.
The focus here is on project development in feasible constellations and without a large superstructure. New urban places, local alliances and municipal strategies are emerging that go beyond the usual constellations in urban development. Cities outside the so-called creative metropolises in particular can gain new attractiveness in this way.
The initiators of City as Campus, of which Sally Below was a member for some time, are working to establish the topic in the professional world, in ministries, colleges and universities. Dialogue formats as well as the book “On the Way to the City as Campus” and the exhibition of the same name, both developed and realised by Sally Below, serve this purpose.
